Traffic Surge & New Ventures

Table of Contents

Hello and welcome to my first blog article on my personal website connoroxspring.com. Here I want to document my progress towards various projects. These projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Digital marketing progress for client sites and my own portfolio of websites.
  • Creation of coding projects including several apps and web applciations I am working on.
  • Writing my very own fantasy novel – that I hope will be a hit with readers.
  • And various other projects that I want to do in future (buy to let, business creation and living a full life).

In this first installment, I want to focus on the website portfolio that I have been building over the last two years. Over the two years I created two niche websites and a third that I seek to attract more clients for my Digital Agency EruptSEO. This installment wil ltalk about my plans for the future and where I want to take the website portfolio in the near future.

Join me on this journey as I seek to make the most out of the limited time that we have on this earth. Hopefully I can teach you some tricks along the way, but more so, I want to document the process. It is the jouney that matters and not the destination.

My Current Situation

Currently I have two niche websites one that has seen steady growth over the last few months. This has come from creating articles that fit with the keyword research I have conducted. I have worked with tools such as SEMRush, Google Trends and Google Search to aid in this. By targeting low competition key words these two sites are on there way for continued sustained growth with fresh evergreen content.

Moving Away From The Current Ad Model

I want to ensure that these sites continue to grow, but I want to move away from the advertisment model I currently follow for both sites. I am currently using the ad platform Ezoic as it provides a higher return on total ad placement. The goal would be to move to a hybrid model on both where I reduce the number of ads currently present (I don’t like the number currently present as it makes the sites look spammy). I will take the sites and turn both into ecommerce stores with woocommerce (as they are both currently running off the backend of WordPress.

Applying the BattleShip Method

At the start of the two years that I created these sites, I paid for a year subcription to Income School. I cancelled the meembership after the year, I learnt all I needed to from these great chaps. The Battleship Method provides a strategy for content creators to review content that is over a year old and observe its current SERP position. The idea is to revamp and add further value to articles that need that extra boost and to prune those articles that under performing (if the search volume meets a value worth your time – the potential for 1000 views per article per month).

I will go through the content on both websites and apply this method to boost further traffic. In this strategy is the need to build a link strategy from some of your most viewed articles to suplementry articles. By doing this you boost traffic significantly as the number of pages viewed per user increases.

Current Website Traffic

I have attached to images below of the current traffic metrics for both of the websites.

Venturing Beyond Freelance Platforms: Building My Digital Agency

Okay, still with me?

The goal is to carryout the methods previously mentioned on the three niche websites. Alongside this I want to take these skills that I have learnt and continue to provide clients with digital marketing serivces based upon my success from content creation and SEO.

For this, the plan is to build out my digital agency website for EruptSEO. Similarly to what I will provide clients (if you can’t market yourself, how on earth are you supposed to market for other people), I will:

1. Establishing a Strong Online Presence

The foundation of any successful digital agency begins with a robust online presence. To showcase my services and expertise, I will be creating a dedicated agency website. This platform will serve as a portfolio, a testament to my capabilities, and a gateway for potential clients to learn about the value I can bring to their digital projects.

2. Leveraging LinkedIn Outreach

In the realm of professional networking, LinkedIn stands out as a powerful tool for connecting with potential clients and collaborators. I plan to leverage this platform to its fullest potential. Through personalised outreach and engaging content, I aim to forge meaningful connections with businesses seeking digital marketing expertise. By demonstrating the tangible results I’ve achieved for both clients and my own projects, I hope to attract like-minded individuals and organisations looking to boost their online presence.

3. Diversifying Client Acquisition Strategies

One of the exciting aspects of this transition is the opportunity to test and document various client acquisition methods. I recognise that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to acquiring clients, and the effectiveness of different strategies can vary significantly. Throughout this Pursuit Portfolio series, I will share insights into the strategies I employ and their outcomes. Whether it’s cold outreach, content marketing, or other innovative approaches, I’m committed to uncovering what works best in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

4. Building a Team of Experts

As I transition from freelancer to agency owner, I understand the importance of assembling a team of dedicated professionals. Collaboration is key in delivering exceptional results to clients, and I plan to handpick experts in various digital marketing disciplines to complement my skills. This collective expertise will not only enhance our capabilities but also ensure that we provide comprehensive solutions to our clients’ digital challenges.

5. Nurturing Client Relationships

Client satisfaction and long-term partnerships will be at the heart of my agency’s mission. I believe in the power of open communication, transparency, and exceeding client expectations. I plan to prioritise building strong, lasting relationships with every client, understanding their unique needs, and tailoring our strategies to meet and exceed their goals.

Next Steps & The Jouney Ahead

As I embark on this exhilarating transition from a freelancer to the founder of a digital agency, one thing is clear – it’s crucial to document this transformative journey.
